The Top 50 on the map
Marker size follows rank. Click a marker to open the dossier. City pages list every ranked surgeon in that city.
- Tap a band to hide it. The Top 10 sit on top of everyone else, so turn them off to read the rest. Square size follows rank; tap a square for the dossier, site and social. 28 squares sit on the practice's own address; the other 22 sit at the centre of the city, so several surgeons in one city share a point. Every rhinoplasty technique, and who published it
Open and closed, preservation, grafts, revision, recovery and cost. Each page cites the papers and names the surgeons who wrote them.
Open versus closed rhinoplasty

Preservation rhinoplasty
Instead of cutting the hump off the top of the nose and rebuilding the roof underneath it, preservation rhinoplasty takes cartilage and bone out from below and lets
Dorsal hump reduction
The hump on a profile is not one thing: it is bone at the top, cartilage below it, and the joint where they meet.
Rib cartilage grafts
When there is not enough septum left to rebuild a nose, the surgeon takes cartilage from a rib, either the patient's own or one supplied by a tissue bank.
Revision rhinoplasty
A second rhinoplasty is a different operation from the first: the cartilage that would have been used to rebuild is usually gone, the skin is scarred and less able
Rhinoplasty recovery

The anatomy of the nose
A nose is three stacked vaults sitting on one central wall: bone at the top, paired cartilages in the middle, two curved cartilages at the tip, and the septum
